WHO WE ARE
The café opened to the public in 1998, when Willhem van den Rooij and Anne de Boer re-appropriated Anna's deceased father's bookshop. Over the years, the café expanded into a multi-function space with an interest in making a community and fortifying its sense of history.
It now functions as a café integrated within a bookstore, and we have our own rental system (check out our app!), and an extensive media archive with films, press clippings and other documents available digitally. Come visit us, and meet our cat, Czaar! The space has its very own atmosphere, and even if you don't like history, our coffees and cakes will make your visit unforgettable!
